There are two Models; Buy Carefully!
There are two models: the Levo book holder and the latest model with even sturdier construction, Levo Deluxe G2. (I think it means 2nd Generation)
If you only want to read books, go with the Levo bookholder. This is cheaper. And if you want to read on Kindle, you can get the tablet extension later.
If you want to read books and use them for e-readers and tablets, buy a Levo deluxe G2 stand, and get a book holder extension. This is a bit more expensive, but this option is recommended because you might need to read ebooks in the future.
Note again: Even if you buy only the Levo book holder, you can get the tablet holder extension from Levo. So, do not worry.
If you live in a small space, use a book stand in multiple places, or want something easy to use, you will love this floor book stand. It will not take up any space in your room, and you can roll it where ever you need it in your home.
Move Anywhere in Your Home
Levo, you give the stability of a mounting arm with the flexibility of a portable book holder.
You can take it to your bed, over your couch, bath, or beside your treadmill or exercise bike.
You do not have to bend down to read.
It is one of the best book holders because it allows you to read in the most ergonomic posture possible. You can adjust the height and the angle to any position.
You do not have to bend your neck down. Instead, elevate the height to your eye level, and adjust the angle of the book holder for a comfortable viewing posture.
Easy lock and hand micro adjustment.
A problem with multi-joint book stands is that it gets difficult to adjust the book holder to its position. But this Levo book stand tackles that problem with an easy lock lever. Once you lock the height, you can make micro-adjustments to place it EXACTLY the way you like.
To show you the adjustability of this book stand, I have selected this video from Youtube.
Do not be confused by the tablet holder. The basic stand is the same. You can either put a book holder extension or the tablet holder extension on the pole. (I have discussed this at the beginning of this post) This video is of the Levo floor stand with the tablet holder extension)

Easy to turn pages
Turning pages is very easy on this book holder. It holds the pages with just the right pressure so that it does not damage the book or pages.
Read a book in bed over your head.
You can read in bed while lying completely flat. The stand will hold your book in front of your face, completely horizontally. As a result, the book will not fall off.
It is a good posture for reading for a long period, and you will not feel any pain in your neck or arms.
Read books sideways while lying down.
If you want to change the position while reading in bed, the holder will change its position to suit your posture. For example, you can tilt the book holder to read lying on your side.
Best holder for tablets and e-readers.
This works equally well for e-readers and tablets. You can fit tablets of any brand like iPad, Kindle, Samsung tablet, kobo, nook, or Microsoft surface.

Cons
It is one of the best book stands that you can buy. But still, there are a few things to note if you get one.
Needs assembling
This stand does not come assembled. You need to assemble it. Do not worry, the process is pretty straightforward, but it is worth noting for some people.
Not travel friendly
The design of this book holder is sturdy, and any heavy-duty stand is not easy to take with you while traveling. If you are looking for a portable travel-friendly book holder, look at the alternative section below.
Summary of Reviews
Summary of Positive Reviews: More people who bought it love it so much that they use it daily. They cannot imagine reading without it now. They love how adjustable and easy to use it is. They have got relief from their neck and shoulder pain.
Summary of Negative Reviews: Very few people have disliked this. And that was also not because of the stand, but the technicalities in the delivery. They did not get all the parts delivered, so they submitted a complaint and got complete assembly.

Different alternatives
It is a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for, and the Levo book stand is worth the price. But if you do not want the ability to adjust the height and only want the angle adjustment, or no adjustment, here are some inexpensive options.
Do you want to read while walking on the treadmill? These seven solutions will help you read easily by preventing any stress in your neck, back or eyes!
If your work out at home and want to read while taking an exercise break? Or You are a busy professional or a mom and only get time to read when walking on a treadmill? Or You love multitasking and think that reading while sitting or running on a treadmill alone is not a productive use of time? Or You hate being a couch potato but want to make your exercise time more fun by reading books?
You have made a great decision. You’re going to lose weight and gain knowledge.
Now, here are the seven solutions that will help you read completely hands-free while you exercise on the treadmill. These are designed to support not only the book but also hold the book open. They come in a range of price and complexity, from cheap to expensive, from really simple to sophisticated.
But before starting, please note: Some solutions provide you with a flat surface.
So, You will need to get something to keep your pages open. I have written a post on that separately, which you can check here. I think that you will need the 5th one in that list, that is, page holder clips.
Here are the seven ways to keep the book open on the treadmill?
7 best Treadmill book holders
1- Portable and the Simplest Book Holder Rack for Treadmill
It is the simplest solution which is also very inexpensive. It easily fits over most treadmills. Plus, you can carry it with you to the gym or use it in your home.
Installation is easy. Just place it on the treadmill head, and its deep pocket will hold the treadmill. Next, place the book on it and start reading. This is how simple it is to attach it to your treadmill.
It can fit most of the books easily. You can read from thin magazines and small paperbacks to thick hardcovers.
Not only that…It can also be used for placing a kindle or your laptop. But, the surface would be a bit slippery.
There are standard and Extra deep versions available. Deep ones are for either thick books or thick treadmill consoles. The deeper pockets are available in 3.5 and 5 inches.
There are also two sizes available. 1) 9×11 inches, and 2) 11×11 inches for bigger books.
There are also different colors available. You can get the one that matches your treadmill.
Or you can get the steel ones which are more durable than others.
Or you can get the one with clear plastic, which will enable you to see through the book rack to the treadmill setting and buttons. I recommend this one.
But there is a problem.
You could not read the text that is at the bottom of the page. It is hidden under the lip of the front pocket.
To avoid that problem, get the one which is made of see-through plastic.
2- Portable Treadmill Desk That You Can Easily Carry
It is a thin and lightweight flat surface that has two handles cut out at the edges.
If you want to take it to the gym, it will be easy for you to do so. Just attach it to your backpack and take it where ever you want.
The board is flexible, which allows it to absorb vibrations that your treadmill generates.
But at the same time,
It is durable enough to hold thick hardcover books easily. Or you can place a laptop as well. In addition, it supports up to 22 pounds, which is far more than your average book.
You can easily fix it on the arms of the treadmill using a velcro strap. Even if your treadmill is wider or shorter than the width of the desk, there is no problem. It is because you can still attach it to your treadmill securely.
If your height is below 5 feet 9 inches, it is perfect for you, but if you are taller, you can use a stand to lift the book at a better ergonomic level. That way, you will not feel any stress in your neck are back.
Other than reading books, you can use this desk to place your laptop or tablet.
The number 6 DIY solution is very similar to this one. This one is better, though.
3- Cheap $15 DIY treadmill desk
I came across a video on YouTube which shows how you can easily make a treadmill desk with just a simple board.
It will cost you just a few bucks. But first, you need to decide if that will even work for you.
You can attach it to almost 80% of the treadmills using its flexible strap. See this youtube video to understand how to install this book rack.
As you can see in the video, it attaches securely and provides you with a surface to place books, kindle, or your laptop.
It is a cost-effective solution to hold books for reading on a treadmill.
But there is a problem.
It is not a universal solution. For example, some treadmills might not get the angle right; for some people, it might be higher than it should be, and sometimes it might stop the treadmill if it hinders with the buttons. So it is advised to see your treadmill before buying.
If you do not like it, you can return it, but you will pay for it.
You can adjust the height and the angle of the books however you like. If you feel that you need it higher than the maximum height, you can buy a two-foot extension, and it will be at the right height.
Fixing books onto the stand is also very easy and takes less than a minute. Plus, it is safe for books.
Whether you plan to read a lightweight paperback magazine or a heavy hardcover book, the stand will support them well.
As you can see from the picture, two knobs at the bottom keep the pages open without using your hands. They exert just the right amount of pressure that does not damage the book.
It takes some floor space but saves you from the hassle of fixing anything on your treadmill.
Just roll it near the treadmill when walking, and place it near your bed before going to sleep. It has fours wheels on the base, which makes it very easy to move around.
This is what makes it a perfect companion for a bookworm.
This treadmill desk is a bit expensive, but as they say, you get what you pay for.
But still…
In this case, it might be a bit more expensive than the value it provides, especially if you consider the LEVO multipurpose floor book holder, which is half the price of this desk. But it is up to you, whether you consider it pricey or a great investment!
This desk is built with an aluminum frame and see-through plastic. And once you fix it to the treadmill, it can hold a lot of weight.
It means,
You can easily place hardcover books, laptops, and other accessories while walking on your treadmill.
You will be able to easily see through all the controls and the settings on the treadmill.
Attaching this to the treadmill is also very easy. Just place it on the arms of your treadmill and pull the straps tight. I will hold myself securely.
And if you want to do some running, then remove this stand. It will take less than a minute to detach.
You can adjust the inclination and the height of the desk.
See this demo video here
But, did you notice a problem?
You cannot place a book when inclined because it will slip down as there is no stop at the bottom. You might need to get a book holder separately. It is not expensive, but it just makes it a two-step process.
7- TrekDesk for reading books on a treadmill – Overkill as a book holder
This is for those who are so serious about multitasking that they need a complete workstation desk, not only for reading but also for doing a lot of work.
This is the most expensive desk on this list. And it is only for those who are sure that are comfortable in reading while walking.
The use of this desk can help you lose a lot of weight while you are busy reading.
You can adjust its height to suit a person ranging from 5’4’’ to 6’4’’. But once you fix the height, it is not easily adjustable.
It has a solid construction where the legs are made of steel with powder-coated paint. And the surface is also made of high-density plastic, which is also reinforced with steel. As a result, it can hold up to 57 pounds of weight without any problem.
Holding a book is not a problem for this desk. Rather, you can support a complete library on it.
Buy this when you are sure otherwise; there are no returns possible. But, if anything breaks down, there is a two-year warranty to back it up.
Final Thoughts:
I started this article to give you a quick solution to hold the book open to read on a treadmill. Some of these products fulfill that purpose, but the last two are more than what you need. Do you agree? Let me know your thoughts.
Now, What do I like the most?
I think either you should go for the quick and simple solution, Or get a multipurpose solution. I like LEVO stand the most.
The best book stand for large textbooks is the one that holds your say, law or Medical Books, at the right ergonomic position to prevent your neck pain. Plus, It should be adjustable to enable reading on your sofa or bed in a comfortable position, so that you can study longer. Read further, if you agree.
This post is for those who want to read for longer periods, but their large textbooks are a problem. Usually, Medical and Law textbooks are that big. When you hold those big books they cause stress to your hands and Neck.
But here are the solutions:
First, let’s discuss the best option, which is a bit expensive, then I will list relatively cheaper options with some limitations.
1. The best book stand for large textbooks is Levo
The Best book stand for reading Large textbooks is a floor stand that you can keep anywhere you want in your home. It is called LEVO.
If you want to read in a sitting posture or in a lying down posture, you can do so with this stand. You can adjust the angle of the books according to your preference.
Read in comfort in the overhead position. When you are laying flat you can adjust the book in a horizontal position, and the page will face towards you.
In a sitting posture, you can adjust the books at the perfect height so that, longer reading sessions do not any pain in the neck. Plus, a slight tilt to the angle will be more comfortable for you.
Works on any side — whether you want to read on your left side or right, this book stand works perfectly.
You can read completely hands-free as there are also page holder knobs at the bottom which hold the pages at every angle. they exert just the right amount of pressure such that it is easier to turn the pages but the pages are held firmly without causing any harm to your textbook.
Your books stay protected. It does not damage the spine or the pages of the book.
Stands sturdy – Do not shake. It is a heavy-duty book stand that holds books without any shake. It is a good thing it is not usually available. See, if you make a stand adjustable, every joint will make it more prone to shakes. But this one is opposite to the usual belief. It is very sturdy yet very much adjustable!
It is very easy to attach books to the stand. Thanks to the Velcro mechanism. Just place the book on the stand and tighten each side with the Velcro. Now your book is not going anywhere.
If you are reading at night, then note that, page turning is completely silent, but changing the book causes some noise.
There are two models of Levo bookholder. To check that, know pros and cons, read a summary of customer reviews and to check its alternatives, see my detailedLevo book holder review
2. Adjustable book stand doubles as a Laptop stand
This portable table is also a great reading stand for large text books.
You can read comfortably in your sofa or bed, by adjusting the legs accordingly.
The angle of the table can be adjusted, which helps in prevention of neck pain. If you look down for a long period then this one, or any of the stands mentioned will help you prevent that problem.
If you want an adjustable book stand but neither have the budget or the place to store it, then you can go for this one.
It doubles as a Laptop stand, and you can use your laptop on your bed as well. It has two USB-operated cooling fans that will help your laptop stay cool.
The only problem is that when fully extended it is a bit flimsy and wobbly.
3 (a). Read up-to 4 Law books – Large Book Reading Stand
Reading stands are available in different shapes and sizes. Plus there are attachments with which you can attach one book stand to the other. That way, you can stack up four books near each other simultaneously. Choose the one that perfectly suits your needs.
If you are working on a computer, and need to look back and forth from the computer screen to the book, and your neck gets tired then this one is the perfect option.
It also prevents you from back pain, because you can sit in a relaxed posture where your back is taking complete support of the chair.
It is best for bulkiest books. Whether you are a LAW student, a Medical student, or want to refer to a heavy dictionary, this book stand will work for you in all cases.
It is made with MDF which is also humidity resistant. But, in my experience, only MDF make products if you are sure that there will be no moisture near them. I mean, there should be no spills on it as it will permanently damage the stand.
3 (b). Heavy-duty Bamboo book stand — Yet Portable and Inexpensive!
If you love to read, your books are heavy and large, and you want something portable, sturdy, and inexpensive then Bamboo Book Stand is the best choice for you.
Although, it is made to read on a flat hard surface, but you can still use it to read in bed. Place it on your stomach. But it will not be that comfortable. For reading in bed it is better to go for the LEVO or the fordable laptop stand.
It is made of Bamboo wood which means that you can easily wipe it with a wet cloth and it will be fine. Some coffee or water spills here and there – It will easily handle them without any problem. As I discussed earlier MDF deteriorates with moisture, so if you do not want to use multiple books stacked on each other then get this one. It will last longer.

If you’re comparing the Wishacc Arm Book Holder Stand to the Levo book holder, it’s important to note that the Levo book holder has the ability to hold books over your head while you’re lying flat. If this is an important feature, you may want to consider the Levo bookholder. Otherwise, the Wishacc Arm Book Holder Stand is a cheaper option that still offers height and angle adjustment options.

Now, there will be no neck pain because you must bend your neck for long. See the demo video to understand the multiple uses of this book stand
3. Camino Folding, Transforming, Multi-purpose Stand For Books
The amazing thing about Camino is that it folds into a small rectangular shape. You can keep it in a pocket or bag and take it anywhere. If you are looking for book stands that take up very little space, then you can compare them with the SmartMe book stand I have discussed above. It is made of metal and provides sturdy support to books. It has multiple angle adjustments and page holder clips that clamp the books from both sides. Using this, you can read hands-free and without neck pain. Demo video:
To keep the book open, there are also book page holders present. The plastic’s quality is good, so you will find it durable. You can adjust the angle to multiple levels. The maximum is 60 degrees. There are also page holders for keeping the book open.
These are sturdy yet very lightweight. They hold even the heaviest books, although they are light themselves. They are also very cheap compared to others. Most of the plastic book stands fold completely flat, which makes them ideal for carrying them while traveling. There is a special stand for kids in this category.
1. Portable, Foldable And Adjustable Holder For Reading
This is another simple book stand that is lightweight and inexpensive.
2. SAYEEC Multi-functional Children’s Portable Reading Stand With Foldable Back
This is the perfect choice if you are looking for a lightweight and kids-safe book reading stand. It is colorful, lightweight, and folds flat. Kids can easily take it to school or use it at home. To use, unfold the stand, place the book on the ledge at the bottom, hold it open with green clips, and start reading at the perfect angle. When you are finished reading, fold it back and keep it in your bag. Other book stands are also a good option, even if you buy book stands for kids, but this one looks cool. Right?
3. Bestbookstand Actto Bst-09 Green 180 Angle Adjustable And Portable Reading Stand
If you want something lightweight, sturdy, and practical, this is one of the most popular options. It can change the book’s angle for maximum comfort of your neck. You can change the angle for up to 18 different angles. That is much more than 5 or 6, common in wooden stands.
4. Fellowes Booklift Copyholder, Platinum (21100)
If you are looking for a book stand that is light and sturdy, then this is a good choice. Plus, it folds flat for easy storage. Turning pages and holding them open is also easy because two patented clips keep them open in the books. It has a non-slip base that protects it from slipping on smooth surfaces like glass. It is heavy-duty and perfect for even the heaviest books. It can handle up to 10 pounds of books.
5. Black Bookstand 7 Adjustable Positions
It is also a heavy-duty book holder made of plastic and steel. The front plate where your place book is made of steel, but the page holder clips and the mechanism are plastic. Page turning is also easy. However, some users find that the page holders do not work that well. Check out critical reviews for more information by clicking the image
Portable Metal Wire Book Stands
These portable book stands are heavy-duty. They are thin and elegant and also hold heavy books easily. Compared to the wooden book stands, these are thin and occupy less space. These book stands are made of either metal wires only, or some models also use metal wires with plastic. Here are the options.
1. Loxtong Adjustable Angle, Foldable Metal Book Stand
The best thing about this book stand is the design. It is simple to look at but does the job very well. You can place paperback, and even heavy books on it. But it is better suited for light and thin books. But it might not be the most durable book stand if you place heavy books. There is a page holder that will work decent and hold the book open. There is no spring-loaded mechanism to push the pages open.
2. Yellow Adjustable Angle Foldable Portable Reading Book Stand
This one is similar to the one mentioned above but has slight changes in the design. I like this one more than the Loxtong because it seems more durable. It is because the angle adjustment knob is made of metal. But there might be a problem in adjusting the angle if the back support gets loose. It will slide down every time you change the page.
3. Fold-n-Stow Metal Bookstand Music Book Easel Display Holder
This book stand is not for heavy books. You can use it for light paperbacks. The best thing about this book holder is its portable and lightweight. You can fold it flat and keep it in your bag. On a desktop, it does not take up much space. To read, unfold the stand and place the book on it. A page-stopper is at the bottom, but that does not do the job well. If you place heavy books on it, it can damage the books due to the pressure exerted by the weight of the book. You can also adjust the angle by adjusting the wires.
1. Portable Pillow Book Stands or Book Rests
These soft pillows are lightweight but hold the book at a better angle. You can put them in your luggage and use them as a pillow. When not in use, they act as a nice pillow. So, you need to get a pageholder clip to hold the book open. It is a soft pillow, but at the same time, sturdy enough to hold books at a better angle. There are pockets to keep your reading glasses, pens, phone, bookmarks, or the remote.
3. Flippy multi-angle book holder pillow
The flippy multi-angle pillow is a comfortable and practical lapbook holder. It has a slightly different design. There are three different inclinations for your books. You can change the book’s angle every time you flip the pillow. The pillow is soft to the touch but sturdy enough to hold the books and iPad easily. There is no page holder to keep the books open, so you also need a page holder clip. To clean it up, put in a front load washer, and you will get a sparkling Flippy again.
Portable Wooden And Bamboo Book Stand.
These offer sturdy support to your book. You can adjust the book’s angle for all of them, but for some, you can also adjust the height to your liking.
How portable are they? I would say not so much. But the fact that they fold flat makes them portable. You can carry them in your luggage, which will take less space. Imagine yourself reading on a train. The book is on any of these bookholders, and when you need to take a break, you can fold and put them back into their bag. They are that portable. There are rubber stoppers at the base of the Readaeer Bamboo Reading Rest to stop it from slipping on a smooth surface.
A few users do not like the quality of the product because, for them, the wood had a crack due to screws. And the plastic back also broke.
3. A+ Book Stand BS1500 Book Holder w/Adjustable Foldable Tray and Page Paper Clips
It is made of a particle board with a wooden finish. But it is very sturdy to hold books. You can adjust the angle of the book at five different positions. It is smaller and lighter than the Reodoeer book stand. It measures 11.8 x 8.7 x 1.4 inches and weighs 1.85 pounds. This makes it easy to carry wherever you want to read.
4. ADDValue Wooden Book Stand
It provides the same study support as the other two mentioned above.
But the unique thing is that it comes in three sizes: small, medium, and large. You can choose the smaller option for portability and the large option for heavy and large textbooks.
Some people find that the product they get has flimsy screws. The bottom ledge is not flush with the front surface. It means when you place individual papers, they will fall.

Triangular pyramid pillow to hold tablets and books on your lap or belly while reading in bed
Ideas in Life Pillow Holder can hold iPads, Kindles, and even real books. It has a pocket that hides some bottom parts of your tablet or the book, but it is more secure than other iPad pillows. You can move in your bed without slipping or flipping your tablet. You can also flip the pillow to make its pocket less deep. The cover is removable and easily washable. You can get it in three colors.
Three different angles triangular pillow. Flip the pillow to change the angle of the iPad or the Kindle.
Flippy is a Multi-angle pillow to hold tablets, readers, and books while reading in bed. The design is unique. Just flip the pillow to change the angle. Kindles and iPads work better on this than books. It has a side pocket to keep your phone, remote, or book light.
Another design of a Tablet holder pillow with a side pocket for reading in bed
The KDD table holder is a great iPad pillow for reading in bed. To hold your tablet in place, it has a low-profile stopper that does not block the lower portion of the screen. As a result, it holds your iPad, Kindle, or any other e-reader at a better angle to release some stress from your neck. In addition, you can keep your pen, phone, or hands-free in its side pocket. It is available in three colors.
Bean Bag style tablet holder that doubles as a travel head pillow, available in small and large size
Lap Pro is a bean-bag-style lap pillow for holding iPad tablets, Kindle readers, and books. You can use it by placing it on your lap and adjusting the angle to your preference. It is available in small and large sizes. The small one is for Kindle and iPad mini, while the large one can hold all tablets, from the iPad mini to the iPad Pro. You can also use it as a head pillow.
Bean Bag style lap pillow that props up your Kindle or iPad at an angle without blocking the bottom part of the screen, with a washable cover
iProp tablet holder is a bean bag lap pillow for holding Kindle e-readers and iPad tablets. You can place it on your lap, and its bean filling will adjust to provide your tablet with a sturdy base. Plus, it gives you flexibility in adjusting the angle of the table. It helps you read digital books at a comfortable neck angle without stressing your arms and shoulders. Finally, you can easily keep it clean by washing its removable cover.
iPad and Kindle pillow that props up your tab at 14 different angles without shaking
Prop n Go Slim is an adjustable iPad Pillow for reading in bed. Free your hands and say goodbye to arms and shoulder pain. Its 14 predefined angles allow you to position the tablet at the perfect angle. This releases some stress from your neck muscles. The memory foam pillow at the bottom conforms to any uneven surface like your lap or belly and provides a steady and sturdy base to hold the tablet in place without flipping.
7. Straps, Handles, and Rings for holding Kindle/iPad with less stress on your arms
If you read in bed, these can be handy gadgets for short periods. Using these, you can hold tablets and e-readers without stressing your arms and hands too much. Instead, they facilitate your hands to grip easily and properly position the Kindle, iPad mini, or small e-readers and tablets. Here are some of the best options:
Simple yet effective Kindle holder with two Two-Hook straps and a leather thumb grip.
TFY Hand Strap is a simple yet effective way to release stress from your hands and arms. You do not have to grip the Kindle while reading in bed constantly. It works whether you lie down straight, on your belly, or on your side. You can easily attach it to any Kindle 6 inches in height, with or without the case, like Voyage, Paperwhite, and Fire). For bigger tablets like Kindle Oasis or iPad, get this Wanpool strap.
Velcro Strap that sticks to any Kindle and iPad also helps free-stand the tab at an angle.
The Finite universal tablet hand strap is great for relieving stress from your hands. The best part about this strap is its design, making it possible to attach it to any Kindle or iPad. The velcro page sticks to the back of the tablet, on which you stick the Velcro handle. Plus, you can use it as a stand-alone stand to free your hands.
The three-hook hand strap for the 6-inch Kindle prevents rotation and shaking more than the two-hook strap.
WanPool Hand Strap has three hooks to hold your Kindle. This three-hook design provides better stability and security from rotation. However, it only works for 6-inch tablets and e-readers, including Kindle Voyage, Kindle Fire, and Oasis 6-inch. Plus, you get a soft and plush protective cover to keep it safe while traveling.
2-in-1 Comfortable handle to hold the Kindle or iPad, and an adjustable angle stand for your e-reader
ComfortHandle does not completely free your hands from gripping the tab but makes it a bit easier to grip it with a comfortable handle. You can also place it on a flat surface like a lap desk pillow or adjustable book holder for the bed, which can help while reading in bed. It allows you to adjust the angle as well. With some care, you can even place it on your belly or your lap. When not in use, detach it for easy storage.
The Ring sticks to any Kindle or iPad and makes it easier to hold while reading for a while
The Ring holder uses a different approach to hold the tablet without firmly gripping it. Just stick it to your tablet, and hold that with a single finger. It looks minimal and does not add any bulk to your eBook reader. But, if you want to hold your tablet, it will magically appear to make it easier for you. It works with all tablets and e-readers, like Kindle and iPad.

7 Ways to Hold a Paperback Book Open
1. Wooden or Plastic Book Stands
These book stands hold the book at an angle and keep the pages open with two arms at the bottom. Thus, you can easily adjust the inclination of the book to suit your needs. For example, you can use them while reading in bed or cooking on a kitchen countertop. They are available in plastic materials like this one:
It is relatively inexpensive. But, if you do not like plastic aesthetics, choose the wooden version of the same concept. Again, it is relatively expensive but provides value for the money.
They are not only good for paperbacks but also work perfectly for heavy-duty hardcover books. Your thick books can also fit in easily. There are a lot of other book stands on Amazon, but I have selected these only. I have considered reviews, built quality, and good customer service.
2. Floor Book stand
These are truly hands-free book stands that you can use anywhere in your home. Just roll this book stand to your bed, kitchen, bath, or in the study room. It has a sturdy base with wheels which makes moving it very easy and convenient. It has two arms at the bottom, which keep your paperback book open. Plus, it is equally good for heavy books. You can set any angle you like, and the stand will hold the book open without causing and damage to the book. Of course, all the features and quality come at a cost, which is the highest among other book stands I have mentioned in this post. But it is a wise investment if you are a true bookworm and would like to read with ease and comfort.
3. Portable book stands
These are lightweight book stands made of lightweight wireframes, or they have some folding mechanism that makes them very easy to carry while traveling. You can easily put them in your purse while traveling. They will remain unnoticeable.
4. Page Holder Clips
There are different shapes and sizes of book holder clips that you can get to keep your paperback books open. This one gently clips the books at the top or the bottom. It works on treadmills and ellipticals as well.
This lightweight and minimal bookmark clamps the book from the sides.
There are three thumb rings that I had shortlisted. One is made of walnut wood, and the other one is made of cheap plastic. The third one is what I recommend. It is the one shown here.
I have written a detailed post on how to hold a book open with one hand? That article mentions all the accessories, from which you can choose what you like the most, to read with one hand.
Here are the reasons:
Walnut wood ring was a premium option. I was hand-made in the USA. The attention to detail is what makes it expensive. But, why get something that you can lose very easily. So the other option is to buy a pack of 6 or 12 cheap plastic rings. They are good for short reading sessions. After that, they hurt your thumb. And if the book is too heavy, they do not hold it well. They either break or causes a lot of stress on your thumb. The one that I showed above is good value for money. It is sturdy enough even to hold the big books. Plus, it is comfortable on your thumb. And if you lose it, you can get a new one.
6. Weighted Bookmarks
This is a simple tool that works. It is available in rubber and Genuine Leather.
Just put the weight, and it will hold the papers from turning. But the problem with this page holder is that it works only if you are reading on a desk or chair. It will not work if you want in bed. For that, check that floor stand or the next gadget. But if you like reading in bed, there is one available in genuine leather. It will feel more luxurious.
7. Book Holder pillow
This is a pillow that holds books open in its pocket. It can double as a travel pillow. The base of the pillow is filled with a bad bean substance which helps it stay straight or at an angle. You can put it on your stomach, on your lap, or the table.
These seven types of holders will keep your book open without damaging it. Some of them will only work if you are sitting, and some work best while lying down. Some offer complete hands-free reading, and with others, you need one hand to read easily.
Choose the one that matches your reading requirements.
Consider a thumb ring, book pillow, or holder clips if you want something portable and handy.
But if you want a more long-term solution, get a stand, and the best one among them is the floor stand by LEVO.
Weighted Bookmarks and wire stands work in table chair environments only. Choose those for your office if you mostly read on a desk.
Note: There are two kinds of people: 1) who love books, and 2) who love books. This post is for the bookworms who cannot withstand that their book dies, bends, have creases, or is less than mint condition.
